The Muses of the Blue

I have been on the water my entire life and know in my heart, mind and soul what being on, in or near the sea can do to your emotional well being. Same as my husband who has dedicated his life to the sea. Twenty some odd years ago we met in Greece and of course immediately connected , our love for all things water being our common bond. Ironically we decided to unify our connection after a strong storm and not after a nice day at the beach. Perhaps it was our initiation, the beginning of our journey.  He had a small sailboat and I a passion for all things blue, together we created a yacht chartering company to share what it feels like to be on the water, the magic and emotions that our oceans &  seas can generate and as such Endless Blue was born. We started with a common conviction to connect people with water and experience its many gifts.  Over the 20 years of our business, the single most common word that we would hear from our clients when asked “how was your trip?” -  “Transformative”, they would reply. Yes of course they would also say it was fun,  had a great time but  - Transformative was the single adjective most commonly used in their client evaluations of their time on the water. We have watched our clients grieve, laugh, re-connect as families, forge stronger bonds and yes fall in love but nothing of what we saw could have prepared us for the profound experience that was to follow.

Fast forward to 2009, a dear client of ours, now our soul sisters had created a foundation called Project Grace. A wonderful organization that supports grieving mothers from the loss of their child. They sent me a short video from one of the mothers speaking about the loss of her child. I will never forget that night - It was 3:00am and I instinctively knew that we had to get the moms out on the water to help in their grieving process. It wasn’t a “oh  it would be nice to do something with the moms eventually” - It was a Maverick emotion, an immediate soul reaction without fear so we knew it was the real deal. A year and a half later we launched the first Release it to the Sea Program with Project Grace. We boarded 10 moms on a couple of boats and set sail in unchartered waters.  Now we are not scientists, we are not psychologists, no medical education whatsoever,  we only had the sea as our teacher and our hearts as our compass guiding us all through the emotions that were to surface that week. We had the steady hands of our Captains that knew what was coming. What we witnessed as the week progressed  in the eyes and faces of our moms, in a word - you guessed it!

Transformative

Many of the moms couldn’t explain what was happening to them, many didn’t understand the full impact of the week until they were back at home. They would find themselves traveling in their mind to being at sea when anxiety would rear its ugly face. The result; a brief moment of serenity.  We knew that their time at sea facilitated that release to occur. We have since then run more programs and in each one the results are the same - the mom’s can’t explain it but find an ability to breathe, to release,  to forgive, to accept, to endure. They do not feel the need to rely on their anxiety medication, they take fewer sleeping pills, fewer pain killers allowing them to feel the pain and go through it, with the sea as their solvent - their purifier.

From our participants, some moms have gone on to write books, some have reconnected with their faith, some have started their own programs and have come back to us to support them on their initiatives, and others like Anneli Collins have returned and have partnered with us to create for more and more individuals the necessary cocoon to explore their own personal struggles and release it to the sea. Hence Blue Life was born, the child of Endless Blue with 20 years of culminated experience to support it in its growth.

Our job is to help people remember what they instinctively knew as a child. Ancient teachings from Hippocrates, continuously emphasized the need to heal the mind with all forms of healing modalities; music, art and Thalassotherapy to cleanse the body from disease.

What we believe is water has the singular capability of penetrating immense internal darkness. It has the ability to connect individuals to one another. It’s pure simple cohesive nature is its strength and its beauty.

Water is attracted to Water. It is connected as we too are all connected and through our compassion for one another is where our true strength is.

And so the Journey into the Blue begins again
