I’m water
we’re all water in different containers
that’s why it’s so easy to meet
someday we’ll evaporate together.”

March 2017 Functional Forum Meetup
Evolution of Cardiology

The Evolution of Medicine is thrilled to be coming to Michigan for the first time for our next Functional Forum live from Detroit. This episode, entitled “The Evolution of Cardiology” will look at new models for preventing and reversing heart disease, the biggest cause of death in both men and women.

Joining Dr Kahn on the Forum are Functional Forum favorite Dr. Jeffrey Gladd who will be sharing his strategies for delivering remarkably cost effective heart care through a cash pay primary care model for patients with high insurance deductibles.

Also speaking is Freedom Practice Coaching Founder Dr. Charles Webb, as he shares their unique strategies for creating “episodes of care” packages that encompass individual visits, group and online education, labs and supplements to make preventive care more affordable for the average American.

Of all the specialties, Cardiology has the most obvious example of integrative medicine success, with Dr. Dean Ornish’s “Intensive Cardiac Rehab” program having been clinically validated and now covered by Medicare and most commercial insurance carriers. Still, evolution into the mainstream has been slow, and so we are excited to encapsulate some of the models that are accelerating this shift.

Featured Speakers: Joel Kahn, MD, Charles Webb, MD, & Jeff Gladd, MD

This episode will include:

  • Explore new models for preventing and reversing heart disease, the biggest cause of death in both men and women
  • Encapsulate some of the models that are accelerating this shift like “Intensive Cardiac Rehab”
  • Look at the powerful role of food as a driver of heart disease but also look at the power of community to prevent and reverse America’s #1 killer
